49ers Defense
It’s going to be hard to argue why the San Francisco 49ers and Pittsburgh Steelers are not your top two defenses heading into the 2012 season; well, unless your name is Rex Ryan of course. These two defenses in 2011 were one-and-two in average points-per- game against, total points allowed, total TD allowed, well you get the point.
Now, if you are looking at Strength-of-Schedule (SoS), and of course you should, you’ll notice that in WK1 both these defenses will have their work cut out for them. The 49ers will face the Green Bay Packer’s and Aaron Rodgers, while the Steelers will open up on Sunday Night Football against the Denver Bronco’s and their new QB, a guy by the name of Peyton Manning. It’ll be tough to recommend either of them on opening weekend, but for the entire season, they are well worth owning. Just don’t be “THAT GUY” and select them before the sixth round. I like to call that owner, a douche bag!
